Contemporary art worlds and art publics in Southeast Asia

Michelle Antoinette and Francis Maravillas, editors

This volume of World Art reflects on the rapidly changing field of contemporary Southeast Asian art – a field of scholarly enquiry that resonates strongly with World Art's commitment to a critical analysis of contemporary art under globalisation and within postcolonial theoretical currents. In particular, the collection draws together a range of contributions by diverse authors from different cultural and practice backgrounds, including art historians and curators, all actively researching and highly attuned to the shifting structure, dynamics and influence of Southeast Asia's contemporary ‘art worlds’ and ‘art publics’ – key themes of this volume.
